Because Australia needs
more People of Colour DEI practitioners

One of the things I've noticed is how many practitioners in Australia are white, cis, able-bodied straight women (no hate; simply real talk with love 👊🏾 ).

In the last year, I've noticed a trend of Women of Colour and People of Colour who want to do this work but are struggling to get a job; to learn how to do it; finding it difficult to do this work in a corporate organisation and have therefore approached me for mentorship. People that have LIVED experience but need LEARNED experience; support from an expert in this work to teach, guide, support, mentor and coach them.

They see me doing this work full time over the past several years and wonder, 'how did Winitha get into D&I?', 'How does she get clients?', 'How does she manage to do this full-time? and/or 'How does she navigate this work as a PoC working with mostly white leadership teams and spaces?'.

When I first started doing this work I thought "I have two options, I can complain, or I can try and do something about it". I choose to do something about it. 💭💭

And so after a year of going back and forth, I've decided to do the same now. I can complain about the lack of BIPOC DEI practitioners in Australia. Or, I can do something about it.

I choose to do something about it!

My goal is to teach you everything I know and pass the baton on to you!

People who;

  • Want to learn from an award-winning DEI expert who is a PoC and has substantial experience and skills in business and corporate. Someone that is a specialist in this work not a generalist.

  • Understand that corporate inclusion doesn’t need dogma or doctrine from DEI certifications created by ivy league USA universities, a Masters in HR/MBA or other programs created and run by other white led and run institutions - programs that are polluted with systemic bias, inequity and colonisation in how to (supposedly) approach DEI. This program is for people who believe in liberation and therefore understand that what is truly needed for effective change and impact (that is also scaleable) is free, and liberated creative thinking. That is, what is truly needed to dismantle and decolonise systems that have been in operation for hundreds of years is to not learn from or be in the system, but to learn as free, creative and liberated thinkers. This program is also for people who don’t want to be drowning in theory and academia and who want practical, use right now type strategies, frameworks, tools and processes from a DEI expert. Approaches to DEI that’s cutting edge.

  • Are struggling to get a job in DEI because of a lack of experience/qualifications (bias and systemic inequity)

  • Want to move into a DEI role/career (or have just started in one) but don't know where to start and are feeling unconfident and incapable (i.e “how do I take social justice and lived experience and apply it to the corporate/business context (learned experience)?”; “I have no idea how to do this work, where to learn it, where to start and what to do and when?”).

  • Have just started a DEI role for the first time and are feeling frustrated, unsupported and overwhelmed (i.e project managers instead Vs impact makers)

  • Want to start their own DEI consultancy but don't know where to start, how to transition, what to do and/or are struggling to make an income/get clients.

  • Want to add DEI to their list of client offerings, as a value add to their business or make DEI the center and filter of their business

  • Are doing DEI related work and want to be apart of a community of practice (i.e tired of being the only PoC in their organisation).

  • Understand social justice but want to develop learned experience (learn how to effectively apply social justice to the corporate environment).

  • Are part of an Employee Resoure Group, D&I committee, Board, Affinity Group or are in a People and Culture/HR role and want to better understand how to do this work and create real change and impact.

  • Want to learn how to go beyond best practice as clearly best practice is not working.

Who is this program for?

This is an action-based program

  • That shows you how to apply social justice in the corporate context (not a social justice or human rights training program).

  • We assume you have prior knowledge/skills in social justice. If you don’t that’s ok. We will show you a robust and proven framework and process for how and where to get knowledge/capability, in fact that is one of the first things you will learn!

  • This program is intensive, immersive and interactive

  • This program is for people who want to understand how to do corporate inclusion work regardless of whether you want to do DEI work more broadly or focus on a specific area (e.g anti-racism, LGBITQA+ rights).

This is an invitation/application based program because of how deep we will go.

This 3-month program runs mid Feb-April 2023. Session dates/times will be decided by enrolled applicants.

All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to a private program portal.

  • To educate, empower and equip People of Colour to effectively decolonise and dismantle systemic barriers to equity and freedom.

My mission is to teach you everything I know over 12 weeks (3 months). I want you to put me out of business and out of a job. And no, I’m not joking.

    • You’re sick of thinking, waiting for the right time, feeling lost, confused, overwhelmed and frustrated about making this move in your career

    • You are tired of wasting time and effort trying to get corporate inclusion skills on your own/trying to 'figure it out' on your own. You're sick of fumbling your way through it and confused about what works and what doesn't. You need an expert to show you what to do, how to do it and when to do it.

    • You’re sick of DEI work being all white folk in Australia and you want to change it. You strongly believe this work needs more PoC and that means YOU - you’re ready to disrupt!

    • You want to learn how to apply social justice to the corporate context (not learn social justice (note: we will teach you a robust and proven method and process on how to do this not teach you social justice per se))

    • You want to learn how to do corporate inclusion work effectively and go beyond being a 'project manager' or box ticker

    • You are willing to invest time, money, energy, grit, consistency and action to develop your corporate inclusion practice

    • You are going to apply what you are learning and not just do ‘another program’ because you understand that confidence and capability is not something you think and feel but something you DO

    • You practice solidarity, by turning up to the LIVE sessions and doing the hard work because when everyone does, we elevate the learning and therefore outcomes for everyone

    • You are not looking for the magic elixir of equity and freedom. It doesn’t exist because we are imperfect people in an imperfect world. In this program, I teach you how to pursue progress (not perfection). Instead, we commit to a practice of continuous and deep improvement and learning, unlearning and relearning.

    • You are committed to doing the inner healing work on your own trauma

    • You want to create change for others more than for yourself (service mind-set)

    • You want to be paid equitably for doing this work with integrity

    • This work is solely about you and your needs (i.e proving a point or healing past trauma) rather than centering the collective experiences and serving the collective needs of the community/s you seek to impact

    • You are not prepared to show up and do the work required whilst demonstrating personal agency over your learning journey i.e turn up to LIVE sessions, complete any homework, contribute to discussions in the online forum, support, show up and serve other participants

    • You are only looking to learn about social justice

    • You don’t intend to work with corporates in some context in relation to inclusion either now or sometime in the future

    • You are not committed to the inner healing of your own trauma/s outside of your inclusion practice

    • You do not understand how to contribute to creating safe spaces for others and yourself

  • As far as I am aware there is no program like this, in particular a program that dives into the practicality and strategy of corporate inclusion.

You’re well read in this space and you’ve been doing your own learning. But maybe you’ve been wasting time and energy you won’t get back trying to figure out how to do corporate inclusion on your own.

Don’t have to fumble your way through this work or waste invaluable time and energy trying to figure it out on your own. Save years of mistakes, tears, and constant challenges by learning from an EXPERT that is globally recognised as one of the foremost thinkers and practitioners in DEI and who works with some of the biggest brands.

Not only do I have almost 20 years experience and expertise in social justice, I also have +20 years of experience and expertise in working with executives and leaders in large corporate organisations; I have also been a CEO myself, an executive leader, board member and managed boards responsible for over $90bn.

In addition to this, I have a Master of Marketing, Masters of Management, Bachelor of Business (Distinction), Advanced Diploma in International Trade and over 2 pages of professional certifications in business, innovation, community development, entrepreneurship and social justice. In 2021 I also received an Order of Australia Medal for my work in inclusion.

I am regularly sort out by other DEI practitioners and consultants for advice and mentorship on how to deepen their inclusion practice and/or expand their business.

Most DEI practitioners come from a P&C/HR or purely activist background. What they lack is the cross-functional corporate knowledge and an intimate understanding of business and the mechanics that drive it.

Known for my extensive capability and expertise in business, experience working in corporate organisations and commercial acumen, this unique blend combined with my social justice expertise leverages my ability to not make inclusion part of a business, but make inclusion HOW a corporate does business.

I’m not interested in best practice. I’m interested in cutting-edge and this is the reason why large corporates and brands come to me for support.

In this program, I’ll show you how to make inclusion part of an organisations DNA, something they do not something they think about after or when they have ‘time’ to.

    • YOUR ABSOLUTE COMMITMENT: This is an intensive, interactive and immersive program. In addition to this, doing corporate inclusion work takes grit, hard work, laser focus, persistent consistency, and lots of action. You need anti-fragility, an open mind, self-awareness and humility to know when your ego is/might be sabotaging the work and truckloads of courage because it’s not about you, it’s about others. Trust me, I’ve been doing this work for almost 20 years.

      One life, all in.

    • INVESTMENT OF TIME: This work requires great practitioners not good practitioners. In addition to this, clients/corporates pay differently for people who are good at what they do compared to those that are GREAT at what they do. We aim for greatness and this requires substantial, persistent and consistent effort day in and day out. We never have the ‘answer’ to equity and liberation as we live in an imperfect world with imperfect people, therefore inclusion is a PRACTICE not a set once and forget. This is a lifelong commitment of time to being and getting great, not settling for good/mediocre.

    • INVESTMENT OF ENERGY: I’m not talking about working 16hr days. I’m talking about the intensity and focus needed for hard work, that is, complex, challenging, difficult and deep work.

    • FINANCIAL INVESTMENT: The financial investment of this program may not be cheap to some and as someone that didn't grow up with money and once upon a time spent several months wondering if they should invest in a $200 online course, I get it. However, I learned that investing in a $200 program gives me different results and outcomes than a $5,000 program. The work of corporate inclusion is complex and the results you need for effective equity and liberation can not be gleaned from a $200 program or trying to 'figure this out on your own'. That said if you require a scholarship scroll to the bottom of the page to apply.

    • An intensive, interactive and immersive LIVE experience that’s practical, actionable, relevant to you and high energy

    • Action, accountability, structure and support (not motivational talks or complex theory) to get unstuck and pursue your dream DEI practice. If you’ve read my WoC leadership book #ColourFULL, you will know this is my magic equation for success and impact

    • The exact steps you need to do the work of corporate inclusion. You’ll be learning this from an award-winning global DEI practitioner (me!)

    • The skills to not just get a DEI role/land clients, but the strategies and practices to give you a sustainable and successful career/business in this work

    • Resources, templates, hand-outs and tools to get started that you will also pull on for support in the future

    • An online private forum to get unlimited and direct support, coaching and mentoring (between M-F, 10-5pm) from me, Winitha Bonney OAM

    • Access to the learning platform which will be available to you post program including all the session recordings for you to rewatch as many times as you want

    • A community of PoC who have the same goals as you and will rally around and support you (community of practice for the sharing ideas and solutions)

    • Cutting edge strategies, frameworks, processes and tools on how to do corporate inclusion work that goes beyond best practice

    • Solutions. We all know what the problems are, and why. We don’t need to waste invaluable time to rehash it. Change requires solutions. In this program you will get effective solutions for creating and scaling change and impact

    • Where you should invest your time and energy and where you should stop investing. I’ll be sharing my mistakes so you don’t make the same.

    • For those starting their own consulting business - I'll share my exact steps to create a multiple six figure practice, and the support, structure and accountability you need to implement those steps

    • For those looking for a DEI role - the exact steps to land that dream role and the support and accountability you need to do those steps from someone that helps her clients find DEI managers

    • No bullsh*t direct and clear guidance from me, Winitha Bonney OAM. I’m going to be direct with you because I believe in you, your potential and your success. This work is to important to waste time trying to figure it out on our own or muck around to learn how and what to do when. ACTION is my middle name and I am obsessed with outcomes/results and you realising your potential. So let’s get to work shall we? ;-)

    • A practice that pays you your value with integrity

    • A certificate of completion to add to Linkedin and to your resume

    • A complimentary copy of my book copy of my book #ColourFULL (leadership book for WoC, if you would like one)

  • I am not sure if this program will be coming back in 2023. It depends on my client load (if I will have capacity) and I will only know this around March as clients book me out 6-12months in advance.

I highly suggest applying for this program now so you don’t miss out.

Investment

Spots are limited. Apply today via the form below.

Pay $AUD2,500 $5,555 upfront (or pay a monthly subscription of $625 for four months with a deposit of $625 (before 23 Dec 2022) and the remaining 3 payments being January, February and March 2023) After 23 December 2022, the price will go up to $AUD3,000. This is still a substantial saving of $AUD2,555.

Please note that the above investment amounts are for PoC paying for the program themselves. The full value of the program is $AUD5,555. If your employer/manager is paying for your participation in the program they must pay the full amount (equity).

Should you require a scholarship please mention this in the application form below. This scholarship requires a $AUD500 contribution towards administrative costs. If you would like to contribute more to keep you accountable or for whatever other reason, you are welcome to. Please send me an email with the amount you would like to contribute and I will send you a discount code to enroll and therefore matches your contribution.

This is a paid program because:

  • “Paying people pay attention” (you get more out of programs where there is a financial investment - it keeps you accountable to do the work and therefore realise the results. Social science proves this and I ran a social experiment for 2 years that proved to me the research was true).

  • It keeps me accountable to ensure I am adding value to you i.e I’m not meeting with you for a coffee so you can pick my brains.

  • Inclusion is important work that we don’t gamble with. You are not going to get what you need to hit the road running and to create change and impact from a free or $200 program.

I’ve consolidated almost 20 years of experience and expertise in this work through a structured program teaching you practical and actionable strategy and tools via training sessions, Q&A sessions, 1:1 mentoring and coaching support, resources, tools, templates and hand-outs.

  • Solidarity: I respect my time, expertise and skills and ask that you do too. I will be providing powerful value through a LIVE program where you have direct access to me (as opposed to an online self-paced program that one usually does not complete with no live support from the trainer). To be accessible for sessions (including in between) and go really deep with you on this incredible learning journey means that I have carved out a substantial amount of time that has been taken away from paid corporate clients.

Please check with your tax accountant, you can generally claim this back as tax deduction in your next tax return under professional development.

If you have your own business you can claim this as an expense.

If your employer is paying for this program they must pay the full amount of $AUD5,555 (equity). Please email me for a tax invoice. Do not use the enrollment form on this web page. Once the tax invoice is paid I will then send you a discount code and link to enroll into the program.

Terms: there are strictly no refunds or transfers after 16 January 2023, 5pm Melbourne time. For monthly subscriptions, you will still need to pay for the full subscription if you leave the program after 5pm, 16 January 2023. You will need to honor your full financial commitment to the program as you have taken a spot that could have been provided to somebody else.

If the program has not commenced you can transfer the program and associated costs to someone else you know would like to participate and can take on the financial contribution you have committed to. If the program has commenced you can not transfer the program to someone else.

*Please note that this is an online program via Zoom. All sessions will be LIVE and recorded and uploaded to a private program platform where you can access it 24/7. This platform will also include all resources, templates and hand-outs. Also please note that topics are subject to change and go much much deeper than what is specified above.

Weekly sessions will be held either 9-10am, 12-1pm or 7-8pm Melbourne, Australia time Tues-Fri. The exact days/times will be decided by group participants. Every week there will be a module training session that will go for 1.5hrs. Every alternative week there will be two 1:1 mentoring and coaching streams running that will go for 1hr (the two streams are the Q&A sessions above).
